Terms of Service

This is the binding English version.

1. Accepting these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and TOPCODE d.o.o. ("RemiStories", "we", "us"), Smoletova ulica 13, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, VAT ID SI95789278, a company registered in Slovenia. By creating an account, using the app, or ordering a book, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

2. What RemiStories does

RemiStories lets you gather photos into "moments" and "stories", invite other people to contribute, have a photo book designed automatically from that content, and order a printed copy.

The app itself is free to use. Generating a finished book and ordering a printed copy are paid services, priced as shown in the app at the time of purchase.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for everything that happens under it. Tell us promptly at remistories@topcode.si if you believe someone else has gained access.

Please keep your email address current โ€” it's how we send order confirmations and important notices.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you upload. Photos, captions and stories remain yours.

To operate the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, reproduce, adapt and lay out your content โ€” strictly for the purpose of running RemiStories for you: displaying your stories, generating your book, and printing and delivering the copies you order. This licence ends when you delete the content, except where a copy must remain in an order record or has already been printed.

We will not use your content for advertising, sell it, make it public, or use it to train machine-learning models without your explicit separate permission.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, including any necessary permission from people who appear in the photos.

5. Photo storage & the storage subscription

On the free plan, photos in your stories are stored for a limited period, which is stated in the app when you upload. We will notify you before stored photos are scheduled for deletion.

With the optional storage subscription, we keep every photo in your stories for as long as your subscription is active โ€” including after your books have been printed. If the subscription ends, your photos remain covered by the free-plan storage period from that date, and you can export them at any time before they are removed.

Printed books are never affected by storage limits: a book you have received is yours regardless of what happens to the digital copies.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't use RemiStories to upload, generate or order anything that:

  • is unlawful, or infringes someone else's copyright or privacy;
  • depicts the sexual exploitation or abuse of any person, particularly a child;
  • harasses, threatens or defames someone;
  • contains malware, or attempts to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems.

We may refuse to print an order, suspend an account, or remove content that breaches these rules or the law.

7. Shared stories & contributors

When you invite people to a story, they can view everything in it and add their own moments. Contributors keep ownership of what they add and grant RemiStories the same limited licence described above.

The person who created the story controls it: they can remove contributors, delete moments, and decide who may view or order the resulting book. If you contribute to someone else's story, be aware that they may include your photos in a printed book.

8. Payments & pricing

Prices for book generation, printing and delivery are shown in the app before you confirm an order, inclusive of applicable VAT. Payment is taken at the time of purchase through our payment provider.

We may change our prices from time to time; changes never affect an order you have already placed and paid for.

9. Printing & delivery

Once you approve a book preview and place an order, the book goes to print. Because every book is made individually for you, production begins shortly after your order is confirmed.

Delivery times are estimates and depend on your location and the carrier. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery. If a parcel doesn't arrive within a reasonable period, contact remistories@topcode.si and we'll investigate.

10. Returns & refunds

Photo books are personalised goods made to your specification. Under EU consumer law, the standard 14-day right of withdrawal generally does not apply to goods that are clearly personalised โ€” so an order cannot be cancelled once printing has begun, simply because you changed your mind.

This does not affect your statutory rights. If your book arrives damaged, misprinted or defective, contact us within 14 days of delivery with a photo and we will reprint or refund it at no cost to you.

11. Organisers

If you create a group story for a camp, class, club or course and earn a share of book sales, additional terms apply:

  • You are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from parents or guardians before adding photos of children.
  • You must have the right to share the photos you add with the families you invite.
  • Your revenue share is the rate agreed with you in writing. Payouts are made after the print run for your story completes.
  • You are responsible for declaring and paying any tax due on income you earn.
  • We may withhold a payout or end an organiser arrangement where these Terms are breached.

12. Our intellectual property

The RemiStories app, website, brand, wordmark, page templates and layout technology are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer them. Nothing in these Terms transfers our rights to you, and nothing transfers your rights in your photos to us beyond the licence described in section 4.

13. Ending the agreement

You can stop using RemiStories and delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account removes your stories and photos as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to export your content.

14. Liability

We provide RemiStories with reasonable care and skill, but we can't promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Please keep your own copies of your photos. RemiStories is a way to gather and print your memories โ€” it is not a backup service, and you should not rely on it as your only copy.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded โ€” including your statutory rights as a consumer.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia. If you are a consumer, you benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

We'd always rather sort things out directly โ€” please contact us first. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
